Fridays are usually special for Kolton and I. It is the one day of the week that is solely dedicated to mom and son time. I don’t usually plan much and we try not to be in any hurry to get anywhere. I clear the day of errands and most hustle and bustle when possible, and spend the day doing what Kolton wants to do, within reason of course.
With the new baby coming soon, I think these days are especially important for him and I, so I want to really start taking photos to remember them.
This Friday, we spent the morning in beautiful downtown Campbell. The sun was shining, and the playground was filled with kids on their Spring Break. We packed some snacks and in between playground time, we were able to have a quiet little picnic, just the two of us.
After the park, Kolton was super excited to see the ‘choo choo train’ (it’s actually the VTA, but he loves it just the same). We parked ourselves near a bench and patiently waited for the train to come. It usually comes about every 15 minutes, and Kolton insisted on seeing two trains come by. This was fine by me, since I was in absolutely no hurry at all.
He was ready to leave now, so we drove to get a quick lunch and blasted some fun, upbeat music in the car. He laughed and sang along the whole way home.
As I write this down, I realize that we really didn’t do much of anything today, but it was so enjoyable. Kolton loved having my undivided attention (aside from the click of my camera), and I loved giving it to him.
I will do my best to continue our special time after the baby comes. I know it will be difficult, and I probably will not be able to dedicate an entire day for awhile, but I think it will be even more important as time goes on. He is such an amazing little boy, and I am so lucky to be able to spend as much time with him as I do. I don’t ever want to take that for granted.
