My In-laws rent a three bedroom house in Indian Wells, just outside of Palm Springs, every year for the entire month of January. The house is beautifully located on the golf course in Indian Wells Country Club. For the past three years, we have had the pleasure of visiting for a few days. The weather has always been beautiful when we go, and this year was no exception. Palm Springs has so much to offer for people of all ages. Curtis and his parents love to golf, and the courses around there are incredible. There are also some fabulous restaurants and really cute shops. We usually like to also try our hand at the casinos while we are there, unfortunately this year we did not come home winners, but we still had a lot of fun! The plane ride was short since we flew into Ontario and drove to Palm Springs. Kolton did very well and loved looking out the window. We planned it so he would nap in the car on the drive to Palm Springs, but unfortunately with all of the excitement of seeing his grandparents, he decided to skip his nap for the day. Oh well…it’s vacation.
The first day, we relaxed, got unpacked and cooked steak at the house and went to bed early. The next day, Curtis, Kolton and I went to a desert zoo called The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. (Read about our visit to the zoo HERE). We had a blast but were so lucky we decided to bring our UppaBaby Vista stroller since Kolton was getting really tired towards the end.
The next day, we went for a long walk around the golf course and in the pool area. Kolton had so much fun exploring and running.
Later that evening, Curtis and I went out to a nice dinner at an incredible restaurant in La Quinta that was recommended to us by some friends, called the Lavender Bistro! The ambiance was like that out of a fairy tale. We sat on the patio, which was lit with sparkling lights and heaters, and listened to live music. I ordered a skirt steak, which was mouthwatering, and Curtis had the sea bass. We rarely get to have date nights, and this was exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

The next day was spent as a full day with the family. We were up early and went to a local outdoor market. It was another beautiful day, so we enjoyed some sunshine, good food and some live music.

After the market, we drove to the iconic downtown Palm Springs, where we once again walked around and shopped while enjoying the beautiful sunny day.
We had a wonderful trip with family and sunshine! With the baby coming in May, this will be my last time on an airplane for a little while, so I am glad we did it before I become too uncomfortable to travel. Curtis and I were able to reconnect and have some alone time, and Kolton was surrounded by so much love and attention! I am hoping that we can continue on with this tradition and make the trip again next year with the new baby, but it is still too early to tell.
