Crafting has always been something I loved but finding the time has held me back. The week that Shelter In Place happened over here, my anxiety told me loud and clear that I needed to keep my time occupied in a healthy and productive way. I’m not saying I was bored by any means. In fact, I was the exact opposite. I have never been as busy in my life as I was those months of quarantine! With 2 kids home from school, work, my husband home constantly, the worries of COVID-19, the uncertainty of EVERYTHING and all of the other things piled on me, I literally could barely find a moment to think. But despite all of this, I knew I wouldn’t make it with my sanity if I didn’t find a purpose. I started taking up some different hobbies. With new hobbies comes a whole lot of supplies. And with a whole lot of supplies comes places needed to store them! So I decided to dedicate a space and to invest in some new furniture to keep me organized.

How I organized my Craft/Workspace

Cricut Crafts:

My Cricut has come in handy with so many fun projects and has been my key to organizing the kids’ school supplies, so I thought it would be important to give my Cricut Explore Air 2, EasyPress2, EasyPress mini, Cricut Joy, Cricut Brightpad and all of the fun materials and supplies, a nice spot to rest. My Cricut Joy helped me make these labels that make finding things so much easier.

I repurposed an old liquor cabinet I chalk painted a while back into a storage cabinet for my Cricut Explore Air2 and Cricut Bright Pad. Next to it is a white Kallax storage cube from Ikea, which I added drawers to and keep my Cricut supplies and materials in.

Pegboard:

My Ikea pegboard has also come in handy as a way to keep things organized and easy to find. I have so many Cricut tools that are now so easy to find and use when needed.

Since taking this photo, I have added so much more to my pegboard and don’t know what I did without it. It is so convenient to have everything I need at a place that is so easy to grab. I highly recommend a pegboard to a workspace, schoolspace, craftspace or anywhere you have small objects floating around without a home.

Sewing Station:

I have also added a sewing table where I can keep my Cricut self-healing mat and sewing machine for fabric projects. I have found that having this table here has so many conveniences since I use it for so much more than sewing.

Craft Desk:

This is what I am most excited about! I ordered this desk on Wayfair and it was everything I hoped for! Yes, it took several hours to put together, but was well worth it. There are so many shelves and places for storage, and it does not take up much space at all!

Isn’t it interesting how when you have more space, you need more space? This new craft space has motivated me to take on many new projects. I will be sharing so many DIY projects in the near future so stay tuned!

Hopefully you enjoyed how I organized my craft/workspace. I am always looking for new ideas and really appreciate feedback. Please share your thoughts in the comments.
