If you are like me, you grew up with pizza and a giant mouse named Chuck E. Cheese. Being born right after Christmas, most of my birthday parties as a kid were indoors, and usually at our local Chuck E. Cheese’s. As a parent, one of my favorite things is re-living my childhood through my children’s eyes and one of our favorite places to do this is still Chuck E. Cheese’s! So, when we were invited to attend the Grand Re-Opening event at the Newark, CA location, how could we refuse?
I was amazed at while this place is different than I remember, it still brought back all those same childhood feels. While Chuck E. Cheese’s was so much fun just as it was, after so many years of entertaining, it could use a little facelift. Luckily, the Newark location did it right! By keeping that same childhood nostalgia with a more modern feel, I was able to relive a bit of my childhood, while watching my children experience the NEW Chuck E. Cheese’s!
It was really cool seeing our favorite characters there for the ribbon cutting ceremony (which was actually made up of tickets)! We got to hang with Chuck E. Cheese himself, Helen Henny and Mr. Munch!
They also danced the night away on the new light up dance floor with their new friends. Some of the other cool new features included the digital menu board, several new games and a larger dining room area for parties. I was happy that Chuck E. Cheese’s was able to add so many new features but still keep the same excitement you expect when you visit Chuck E. Cheese’s.
Kolton and Shayne got their own wristbands, which to me is much more convenient than tokens or even game cards that can easily be misplaced. The wrist bands work the same but stay put on their wrists while they play. They were able to play all the games they wanted for 90 minutes and we were even able to put our time on hold for a bit while we ate pizza. Which but the way, was delicious! And the salad bar is so fresh!
After a long afternoon of playing, singing, dancing and eating, it was time to cash in our tickets and get some great prizes. At the end of the day, my two party-animals had the BEST time at the grand re-opening event in Newark, CA. We will definitely be back soon!

The only way I was introduced to Chuck E Cheese was over the television, since they aren’t available in my country, but still it looks like fun, and I really enjoyed seeing the tickets just coming out and never stopping, it’s great that you got to experience the nostalgia from before, and that the kids had fun. also happy late birthday.
