Every month that comes to and end, reminds me how quickly babyhood flies by. I don’t want to miss a single moment with my beautiful peanut. In only three short months, Shayne will be ONE! I don’t think I am ready for that milestone quite yet.
Shayne now has four teeth, and she has the most joyful and adorable grin. She loves trying new foods, and is eating more finger foods. Her favorites are puffs, baby crackers, avocado chunks and banana chunks. She really enjoys picking up her food and putting it in her mouth. She focuses so hard and smiles so big after she reaches her mouth. It is so fun to watch and keeps her entertained long enough for me to wash dishes.
This little lady still isn’t crawling, but I think it will come any day now. She is beginning to get more and more frustrated when her toys are out of her reach. She loves to babble and say words like, ‘Mama’, ‘Dada’, and, ‘BaBa’, which she usually says when Kolton is around. I think it is her take on ‘Brother’. She loves her big brother so much and lights up every time he comes around. She also waves hello and goodbye and loves to give high-fives! I have even gotten her to give me kisses! So far those have been reserved just for Mommy though, which is fine by me!
She still loves bath time, and is also quite fond of the pool. We brought her in our club’s heated pool recently and after the one second initial shock wore off, she was so happy, splashing and laughing, she didn’t want to get out. I am so excited for more consistent warm weather so we can have pool days more frequently!
At her 9 month checkup, Shayne weighed in at almost 16 1/2 pounds, putting her in the 25th percentile for weight, and about 29 inches tall, putting her in the 95th percentile for length! I am very surprised at how tiny she is considering all of the food she eats. I guess it has all gone to her height.
Shayne’s favorite toys are her stuffed animals and anything that feel good on her gums. She loves to read stories and sing songs and LOVES having all of Mommy’s attention, which can be difficult sometimes. We love her so much and look forward to seeing her smiling face every morning!
xoxo
