Kolton turned 1 and 1/2 at the end of May.
18 months is a big milestone for toddlers and for us as parents. Of course we had to take this opportunity to reflect and also to plan a photo shoot! Lucky for us, we have a very good friend who has done many of Kolton’s photo shoots, Jaime Hayes. She was more than eager to meet us at the location of our choice to document this occasion.
We decided to have the shoot at a nearby park, Oak Meadow, in Los Gatos. We chose this venue for its lovely creek-side setting, large toddler friendly playground, grassy fields and its carousel attraction. We had also done Kolton’s 3 and 6 month photo shoots here as well at different locations within the park. There is also a very popular trail that we jog on with Kolton in the BOB Revolution stroller, so we are very familiar with this area. The next decision was ‘what to wear’. I chose an adorable and super soft polo by Splendid for him and comfortable khaki shorts from Target. Paired together with toddler-sized Converse, he looked so handsome and was also able to run around and have fun!
First we tried to get some posed family shots, but we quickly learned that in order to keep him in a good mood, he had to be allowed to do his own thing. These ended up being the best photos of the day because he was comfortable and in his element!
All in all, this was such a fun day for us, and after all of the excitement, Kolton took a long, well-deserved nap!
