What is The DisneyCheck?

The DisneyCheck is a quick and easy way for kids and families to identify nutritious choices in stores, at live-event venues, online, on-air and at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. All foods featuring the DisneyCheck meet the company’s Nutrition Guidelines.

The Goal is to promote fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, whole grains and lean meat. It encourages kid-appropriate portion sizes (based on calories) and limits ‘nutrients to avoid’ (e.g., sodium, sugar, saturated fat, trans fat, and caffeine).

The DisneyCheck can be found on kids’ menus at Disney’s domestic parks and resorts, on various Disney-licensed food products sold at retail locations across the country, at live-event venues, and on qualifying recipes at Disney.com, DisneyFamily.com, Babble.com and DisneyMickeyCheck.com.

Bonding with Kids Over Nutritious Choices:

Bonding with our kids when in the kitchen can really help with the enjoyment of nutritious food choices. I find it helps to not only get them involved in the food-making process, but to also explain to them why it is important to make the choices we make. My son, Kolton just turned 8 years old and loves Math and Sports! I often explain to him how nutritious food choices can greatly impact his strength and brain health. He recently has been speaking out about wanting to eat more fruits and vegetables so he can get stronger. This shows me that he truly gets it and cares about his health.
